BÜRGERUNI: Teeth and age - why oral health determines quality of life

Health and the oral cavity change with increasing age. Inflammation of the gums, often favoured by hygiene, smoking or medication, interacts with systemic diseases such as diabetes or dementia. Oral health influences quality of life and cognitive performance. The lecture explains the connections and shows ways of prevention - regardless of age.

The speaker is Prof Dr Anton Friedmann, holder of the Chair of Periodontology at Witten/Herdecke University.
