Online Event on Research Data Management for Qualitative Data 2026

The workshop aims to introduce the specific ethical, legal, and practical challenges involved in managing qualitative research data—such as data protection, informed consent, anonymization, documentation, and data sharing. Established best practices are of particular interest and importance to researchers at our university. Work at UW/H frequently involves complex, sensitive personal data.
Collecting and securing such data requires a method-specific approach to research data management (RDM) that guarantees data quality, transparency, and legal compliance.
UW/H’s research data management team provides targeted support in this area and therefore recommends this online workshop.
The event is aimed in particular at social scientists who work with qualitative methods and data.
Registration is now open (as of July 20, 2026). Participation is free of charge, but the number of spots is limited.
Further information and the registration link are available on the SocioHub event page .
Questions can be sent by email to Maike Lang (she/her).
The workshop is organized by SocioHub and the Sociology Reference Service of the University and City Library “
