Anne Kitschen successfully completed her doctorate at the Chair of Institutional Economics and Health Policy

On 10 September 2025, Dr Anne Kitschen successfully defended her PhD thesis at the Chair of Institutional Economics and Health Policy at Witten/Herdecke University. The title of the thesis is: "Measurement and assessment of resource utilisation in health care economics evaluations".

In her PhD thesis, she analysed how the use of resources in the health care system can be efficiently recorded and evaluated in monetary terms within the framework of three studies. A particular focus was on analysing indirect costs and improving the comparability of health care economics evaluations.
