Open Studio

Artist-in-Residence Programme

The Chair of Digital Arts and Cultural Mediation launched the artist-in-residence programme "Open Studio - More than Close Study" in 2023.

The programme enables artists to use Witten/Herdecke University as a co-working space for a period of two semesters and to participate in the life, thinking, debating, acting and research of the institution.

The aim of the project is to convey the working methods of art-based research through Studium fundamentale, to arouse mutual interest in each other's concepts and practices among artists and researchers and thus to stimulate interdisciplinary research approaches.
