We are pleased to present new research findings on emotion regulation in real-life conflicts.
The study investigated whether emotion regulation can buffer physiological reactions during acute interpersonal stress. Among other things, the following was shown: Both acceptance and reappraisal significantly reduced HRV-based cardiac reactivity compared to the control group. Emotion regulation may therefore help to calm the body - even during heated relationship conflicts in real life.
