Research data management in nursing science
FDM becomes a component of the doctoral programme.

The School of Nursing Science at the UW/H has been a pioneer in its field for almost thirty years. Clinical care of older people is one of the main areas of research. The focus is on the needs of older people, the demands placed on carers and developments in society in this area. The RDM also plays an important role here.
Current RDM tasks for nursing science (in selection) are, for example
- enabling sustainable, FAIR research data management along the data life cycle (incl. research ethics, data protection and data security),
- to create awareness (training for researchers) and
- provide assistance on RDM following enquiries from researchers and identify infrastructures.
In September 2025, the topic of RDM will therefore be a building block in the doctoral programme in nursing science in cooperation with Dr Dominique Autschbach.
Networking with the GesundFDM project
In order to create synergies, the UW/H's RDM has networked with the stakeholders in the GesundFDM project. The three-year BMFTR-funded project will run until August 2025 and aims to "create a basis for the health, therapy and nursing sciences as well as for midwifery science and health-related social work so that the research data used there is better available and reusable through professional RDM. In addition, the professional and institutional connection to the RDM community, in particular in the form of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) and the NFDI4Health consortium, is to be achieved."
