Klaus Welle: Future Visions for the European Union

Klaus Welle, Secretary-General of the European Parliament will share his perspective on the future of the EU.

In his keynote Klaus Welle, Secretary-General of the European Parliament, will talk about future visions for the European Union. The EU has faced different challenges during it’s history and managed to cope with them various times. Right now, we experience a crucial phase for the European Union with events like the Brexit and rising Euroscepticism. Klaus Welle will highlight possible steps for the European Union in the future and share some visions with us.

About the speaker: Klaus Welle, Secretary-General of the European Parliament, holds a degree in economics from Witten/Herdecke University. After being head of the European and Foreign Policy Department of the German conservative party CDU in Bonn he became Secretary-General of the European People’s Party and the European Union of Christian Democrats in Brussels. Further positions in the European Parliament followed. Since March 2009 he is the Secretary-General of the European Parliament.

The keynote is part of the conference "Brussels, we have a Problem - Rethinking Justice within the European Union", but is open to the general public.
